BIOGRAPHY

Vicente Chavarría Ortiz. A native of Santa María Tonanitla, State of Mexico. He began his musical studies at age 11 under the tutelage of his father. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Tuba from the National Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Roberto Garamendi. He was principal tuba player of the Mexico City Symphonic Band and the State of Mexico Philharmonic Orchestra, and has been a guest artist with the country's leading symphony orchestras, such as the National Symphony Orchestra (OSN), the National Symphony Orchestra of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (OFUNAM), and the Coahuila Chamber Orchestra, among others. In 2019, he represented Mexico with the Orchestra of the Americas (YOA) under the direction of Carlos Miguel Prieto. He is currently principal tuba player of the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra.
