BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Migeun Chung is a distinguished collaborative pianist and vocal coach whose work spans major opera, art song, and musical theater stages across North America and Europe. She currently serves as Lecturer in Collaborative Piano at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where she mentors rising musicians and cultivates artistry, collaboration, and musical excellence.
Her professional experience includes distinguished appointments with SongFest’s Professional Pianist Program and multiple seasons at the Bay View Music Festival, where she served as Artist in Residence, Assistant Music Director for Beauty and the Beast, and coach for the Art Song program. Dr. Chung has collaborated with numerous opera companies and training programs, including Opera NUOVA, Opera in the Ozarks, Indianapolis Opera, MOSI, Interlochen Arts Camp, Opera Lucca, Classical Lyric Arts, AIMS in Graz, and the Vocal Immersion Program.
In 2025, Dr. Chung expanded her national and international presence through performances at the International Women’s Brass Conference in Connecticut, the Music by Women Festival in Mississippi, and a faculty recital tour to the University of Louisville, Miami University, and Indiana State University. She also joined the Collaborative Artist Division at La Musica Lirica in Italy, performing in scenes, concerts, and masterclasses.
Upcoming engagements include serving on the faculty of La Musica Lirica’s summer 2026 program in Italy, joining the Lieder Akademie & Festival of Dramatic Voices Program in Germany, and participating in the NATS Internship Program in South Carolina, further enriching her evolving work as a collaborative artist and educator.
