Dr. Stephen Shoop teaches applied low brass at Navarro College, in Corsicana, Texas. Steve previously taught at the University of Texas at Brownsville (currently University of Texas‐Rio Grande Valley). In addition to teaching applied tuba and euphonium, Dr. Shoop performed in the UTB Faculty Brass Quintet and also served as Co‐Conductor of the Rio Bravo Wind Ensemble. Prior to UT‐Brownsville, Steve completed twenty‐seven years as a Texas band director. Shoop holds degrees from Texas Christian University, Indiana University, and the University of North Texas. His primary applied tuba instructors are Donald Little, Harvey Phillips, and Ronald Tasa.
