Andrew Sallee is a low brass performer and educator based in Central Florida, where he currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Music at Florida Southern College. He plays Solo Euphonium with the Brass Band of Central Florida and is the Artistic Director of the Sunshine Brass Band. He earned his Bachelor’s in Euphonium Performance at the University of South Florida (’18) and his Master’s in Euphonium Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (’20), where he is currently finishing his Doctor of Music degree. His primary instructors include Joseph Alvarez, Jay Hunsberger, Carl Lenthe, and Brian Brink.
He has performed in a wide variety of musical settings including wind bands, brass bands, symphony orchestras, big bands, polka bands, and is a founding member of The Sequence Quartet. He has performed as a guest artist at events including the 2023 International Tuba/Euphonium Conference, the 2023 International Euphonium Tuba Festival, the 2022/2024 Midwest and Southeast Regional Tuba/Euphonium Conferences, and at many university music schools in the United States. As an educator, his students have been accepted into regional and state honor bands and have received top marks in Solo and Ensemble events at the local and state levels.
The recital program is titled “Prismatic: Of Light and Color” and
features repertoire dealing with, naturally, light and color.
